Below are downloadable templates so that you can print and make your own white box to package your ammunition.
All templates will print on 8.5 x 11, 110lb or heavier card stock. You can buy 110 lb at the local retail store or go to some office supply and they might have a thicker Card Stock. The Generic templates are my creations, while those listed in other areas are copies of boxes from commercial boxes (without the labels, plastic dividers and tax sticker) so I guess they are Generic to some degree as well. Still, if you print those and have some extra plastic inserts they should work just fine.
I visit the local shooting range and sometimes collect the empty plastic inserts from the shooting range, so t I occasionally need the commercial like boxes.
Deciphering the file
using the below as an example the decoding is pretty straight forward:
45acp_generic_50.jpg
Caliber_ BoxType and/or TradeBrand_ AmmoCapacity . FileType
Items needed
Scissors
Card stock 110lb + (thicker would be 120, the thicker the stronger the box.)
Glue stick - Elmer's Extreme works good.
printer, pc, bullets, time, patience, ability to fold paper, vivid imagination....
Printer Settings/Options/must.
* PRINT LANDSCAPE!
* No Border printing. (de-select print borders, borders...etc.)
* No "Fit on page" option. (This will shrink the template and the ammo will most likely not fit in the box as it is slightly smaller.)
* Choose Gray-scale print option not color.
Cutting.
Cut along the solid lines and stop at the crosses (+). All of the scraps with "O" are not scrap, they are separators/dividers for the ammunition.
Note: The commercial boxes may have solid center lines, in such do not cut the inner lines as they are fold lines. just cut the outer parameter.
Folding
Fold both ways before gluing. (looking at the page;) fold horizontal on the cross lines, then do so like wise vertically. Using a flat surface and corner of a table works well.
Modifying
If you have a photo or image editing program, it is possible to add images and text to the file image for a more custom look. These are JPEGs after all.
Note: Some commercial boxes may fit other brands such as the "45_acp_TulaRem_50.jpg" below also works with certain Remington plastic inserts for the 45.
